Basic Rules
These are the main rules of Tails of the Sea. No matter if you're here to roleplay, or just to chat, all these rules must be followed. It is a code of conduct for our users and our site.
Our RPG rating is 112. These three numbers describe the standard all forums adhere to. Because this is a child friendly forum, we have kept things PG-13.
The first "1" indicates that mild swearing is permitted. This is a pirate roleplay after all, and no one has ever heard of a clean-mouthed pirate. However bad language is only permitted to a certain extent. Slang words that put down certain denominations of people, or are offensive to any of the like are strongly frowned upon.
The second "1" refers to sexual content, and how much of it is allowed. As this is a site where adult-like characters are roleplayed, it would be absurd not to expect them to get a little physical, however nothing should be described in detail. Innuendos are fine. Kisses and hugs? No problem. But let's keep everything above the belt when writing about sex.
Lastly, the "2" refers to violence. As this is a pirate roleplay, lots of fights will be taking place. This 2 means that explicit violence is permitted. Blood, gore, we have it all. All that we ask is that nothing is described to the point of being taboo or grotesque. If you couldn't watch it on a screen, don't write it here.
Below are the remaining rules as far as conducting oneself goes. Be sure to read them carefully!
1. Display tolerance and respect for other members
Everyone is different, but we are all here on the forum together to experience this big adventure. Even if you do not understand another user's viewpoints or ideas, please take a stride to tolerate them.
2. Keep the environment PG-13
As stated above, this is a roleplaying site that strives to keep its content child-friendly. Please be aware of your actions and words around the rest of the userbase.
3. Do not spam
Okay, on sandwiches you may spam, and you may eat spam, but please do not post spam in our forum. It only serves to clutter things up.
4. Do not give out your personal information to others
This is basic internet safety, however we must ask that for your own wellbeing, you keep your location, password, and anything else potentially sensitive a secret.
5. You may only make one account
Your sole account is allowed to have five characters. Those who are found to be using two or more accounts to cheat the system will walk the plank! However if you happened to have forgotten your password, or if you need a fresh start and will only intend to roleplay one account, then this can be excused.
6. Only roleplay as your approved characters
Members are allowed to have five characters at a time, and must post a creation topic before roleplaying them. These characters cannot be utilized until an Admin or a Staff Member has commented "Approved" below your creation post.
7. Please make a member announcement if you'll be away for a while
This helps other members better plan their roleplay schedules around your absence, and keeps the line of communication clear.
8. Do not try and find loopholes in the rules
If you are breaking a rule, you are breaking a rule. Please respect this site and its members and follow our laws here.
